FAQ
I offer peace of mind — the opportunity for you to imagine and dream about what your life could be like once your space is transformed. A designer serves as your guide through what can often feel like a daunting process — easing the stress, clarifying the details, and introducing you to products, materials, and styles that bring your vision to life.
Design is the interior architecture and layout of a space. It is space planning with you in mind. Décor is the scenery that brings a home to life. It is the functional, aesthetic, and sentimental objects in the space that bring you joy.
I start with a complimentary 20-minute phone Discovery Call to learn about your project type, needs, timeline, budget, and whether my services are the right fit for your project.
It may be a 90-minute Strategy Design Consult to help point you in the right direction for a DIY (Do It Yourself) project, or determine if a Designer for a Day or a full Comprehensive Design package is the better fit.

A single kitchen or primary bath typically takes 8 to 12 weeks from the initial measurement to the completion of the design documents.
Whole-home or multi-space projects take longer—often another 6 to 10 weeks—because there are more decisions to make and more rooms to design.
Your availability for reviews and the complexity of the job can shift that timeline a bit.
Since design is a collaborative process, I recommend you bring a contractor into the conversation as soon as the general layout feels right.
Early collaboration keeps budgets realistic and allows for smooth progress.
No, project management isn’t part of consultative design. That said, I’m delighted to provide site visits to answer questions and ensure the build aligns with the plans throughout construction.
I am a CMKBD (Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer) — the highest level of certification in the industry — and a CAPS (Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist). With more than 40 years of award-winning experience in kitchen, bath, and whole-home remodels, as well as new construction, I bring depth, technical expertise, and real-world problem-solving to every project.
I’m known for straight talk, practical budgets, and design plans contractors actually like to build from. My drawings are detailed. My specifications are clear. My process is thoughtful. That means fewer surprises, smoother execution, and a finished space that functions as beautifully as it looks.
Many of my projects come from past clients — homeowners who return because we’ve built trust, established rapport, and I have a deep understanding of their homes and evolving needs.
I also welcome contractor-referred clients who value a collaborative, team-based approach from the very beginning of the design process. When the designer and contractor work in sync, projects move more smoothly and efficiently.
And of course, I work with new clients who are seeking a fresh perspective — homeowners who appreciate the balance of form follows function and want continuity, flow, and thoughtful design throughout their home.
My clients value experience, clarity, and a well-planned process as much as they value beautiful results.
